One of the most sacred places blessed by Guru Rinpoche but
visited by only a few. It is just like
Paro Taktshang located on the cliff. It is about two hours walk from
Tshangpuchel Pry. School Trashiyangtse Dzongkhag. One can also walk uphill from
Kheni too.
It is said that, “ Guru Rinpoche while taming and subduing
demons at Tibet, one of the demons ran away through the place. The demon ran
further near Gomphu Cora, Guru stopped the demon by throwing the (torma) religious cake on the way of the
demon. The stone shaped torma is
still visible in the middle of the Tashigang/Trashiyangtse highway. The demon
could not escape further more beyond the torma.
Guru then went down towards Goongja (Present Gongza Ney) blessed the place
and subdued the demon at a place where today Gomphu Cora is Located. Guru then
went back to ‘Omba Ney’ and meditated there and concealed the treasures which
will be discovered by the tertons (Treasure Revealer) in the future.”
Below the sacred place there is also cave where Guru and Khando
Yeshey Tshogyal meditated. Imprint of Jachung (Garuda) and dungkar (Conch) is
visible in the cave where the Khando meditated.
